This Queens podiatrist believes that Holistic podiatry involves giving cortisone injections. This is good for your foot in certain cases. Also nonsteroidal antiinflamatory medications are good for you feet in certain cases. In certain cases, if pills and injections are not undertaken and only natural treatments are used, you may avoid the possiblility of side effects and at the same time increase the amount of suffering from foot pathology.Disclaimer: do not rely on the above statements.  Please consider becoming  a patient of Dr. Chaskin podiatrist in Queens.Warning: there are no guarantees and your foot problem may worsen after seeing a podiatrist.

I spoke with Dr. Kornfeld Podiatrist who set up a website called holisticpodiatry.com I enjoyed speaking with Dr. Kornfeld and perhaps you will also enjoy speaking to him. Warning: Dietary supplements are not intended to diagnose, prevent or treat any disease and statements about dietary supplements mentioned in this website have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. I believe that certain dietary supplements can be helpful as part of a preventative approach that encourages normal foot function. I believe it is best to see a healthcare professional who has special knowlege in nutricianal and nutraceutical sciences. Please consider seeing the website www.naturalclinician.com. I also feel that some of the books written by Dr. Holt should be read. As a part of a holistic or alternative approach please do not forget the importance of your foot's surrounding environment ( sneakers and shoes that propperly fit ).

I GENERALLY TELL MY PATIENTS TO NOT WEAR SHOES THAT ARE TOO TIGHT

BELIEVE DIABETIC FOOT ULCER DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT IS A TEAM APPROACH

REFER WHEN NECESSARY

IF SOMEONE HAS POOR CIRCULATION IN THEIR FEET GENERALLY, I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD BE REFERRED TO A VASCULAR SPECIALIST. IF SOMEONE HAS SWOLLEN FEET, THEY SHOULD BE TOLD IF THEY ELEVATE THEIR FEET TOO HIGH, THIS COULD IMPAIR CIRCULATORY FLOW TO THIER FEET. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, DO NOT RELY ON ANY ADVICE FOR TREATMENT FROM THIS SITE. BE SEEN IN PERSON BY A PODIATRIST OR A MEDICAL DOCTOR THAT IS LICENSED TO TREAT THE FEET.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING ANY SHOE UNLESS A LICENSED HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL EXAMINES THE SHOE AND THE FOOT AND GIVES AN OPINION AS TO IF THE SHOE PROPPERLY FITS ON SOMEONES FOOT.

For some of my patients I have tried using an arch support as a temporary attempt to treat certain problems. Before any treatment is attempted I feel it is important to first see a podiatrist or other qualified licensed health care practitioner.
A PODIATRIST CAN GENERALLY PERFORM A BIOMECHANICAL EXAM AND GAIT ANALYSIS AND PRESCRIBE A CUSTOM MOLDED FOOT ORTHOTIC. BY TAKING A CAST OF THE FOOT IN IT'S OPTIMUM POSITION AND PRESCRIBING THE PROPPER ORTHOTICS NEEDED IS AN ATTEMPT TO TRY TO TREAT VARIOUS FOOT PROBLEMS. THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES.  SOMETIMES ORTHOTICS CAN BE VERY BENEFICIAL WHEN PRESCRIBED AND CASTED BY A PODIATRIST. FOR EXAMPLE I USED AN ORTHOTIC THAT WAS CALLED THE STJ HEEL SPUR SPECIAL FOR HEEL PAIN AND WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. SOMETIMES ORTHOTICS DO NOT WORK.
